1) SNUFF: finely ground tobacco, sold in cans or pouches. It can be sold as either dry or moist. Moist snuff is used by placing a pinch or dip between the lower lip or cheek and gum. The moist snuff is also available in small teabag-like pouches that are placed between the cheek and gum, and is not only smoke-free but also spit-free. Dry snuff is used by sniffing or inhaling the powder up the nose.
2) SNUS: a form of moist snuff used in Sweden and Norway. It is packaged in small pouches.
3) CHEWING: consists of long strands or twists of tobacco. Chew is placed between the cheek and gum or teeth. The user spits out brown juice. Spittoons are containers used exclusively for spitting by chewers:
